Once Damascus is forged or ground to shape, the waves of steel alloy will meet at the edge and you can change the cutting performance of the blade by tweaking the alloy and its heat treat process. Our makers forged each billet with quality and care. The billet was made from 1095/15N20 steel in a Random pattern. There are 180 blade layers that have been tempered at 54 to 56. The hand polished handle is made from real bone with a brass frame and copper bolsters. A burnt finish is featured to add a little drama to the overall appearance. When closed the blade fits snug into the double walled handle. The free falling lever allows you to operate the automatic function by deploying and releasing the blade. This beautiful knife comes pre-oiled to prevent rusting.
