As the medieval era moved into the Renaissance period Henry Percy known as Hotspur was one of historys most famous knights. For his acts of valor and duty to the king he received substantial marks of royal favor in the form of grants and appointments. He earned his name by his Scottish enemies in recognition of the diligence with which he patrolled the border between England and Scotland. This impressive weapon is constructed from EN45 carbon steel with a 4.45 mm thickness and is battle ready. The blade is a whopping 43 inches in length with the point of balance being 5 inches from the steel guard. The double handed hilt is constructed of wood that has been leather wrapped and hand sewn. A scent stopper pommel is peened making this a functional full tang sword. The quillions are slightly turned downward in a simple design. A fuller runs almost three quarters down the blade. It is forged in a spring style so that damaging blows will move fluid with the wielder as to not bend or crack the blade.
