Terror at Sea Leather Jolly Roger Tricorne Hat
Terror at Sea Leather Jolly Roger Tricorne Hat
Pirates often wore the traditional garb of sailors, but acquired articles of clothing outside their station from captured cargo and innocent prisoners. Pirates would steal gentlemens hats and then wear them until they basically fell apart, so if your hat has seen better days, all the better. This hat features a tricorne style. These hats were known for their rather broad brim, pinned up on either side of the head and at the back, producing a triangular shape. This hat is constructed of 100% full grain tanned and treated leather. The outer portion of the brim has been treated with a leather protector and waterproofed. Both sides have been laced in place with leather string and the third side has been riveted in place with a Jolly Roger emblem with a brushed finish. For better protection against the elements just loosen the laces and drop down the sides. This style of hat can be seen worn by Edward Teach, George Washington, and James Monroe, "The Last Cocked Hat".
